Presiding Elder & First Lady Dr. Darwin D. Little & Mrs. Deborah Little
Reverend Dr. Darwin Donell Little is a native of Wadesboro, NC (Anson County). He is married to Deborah A. Little and is the father of two daughters Portia and DeShonda (deceased) and three sons Darrian, Jamire and Ma’Jore. He is also the grandfather of three granddaughters Paris, Autumn and Harmony and one grandson Saint.
He received his primary education in the Anson County School System, Wadesboro NC. He is an Honorable Discharged Veteran of The United States Marine Corps.
Rev. Little is a lifelong member of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. He was ordained Deacon and Elder by the late Bishop Cecil Bishop. He has served as Chief of Protocol for the West Central and Blue Ridge Annual Conferences, Chairman of Conference Studies and Chairman of the Budget & Finance Committee in the Blue Ridge, Colorado and Virginia Conferences, served as Delegate for the General Conferences in Atlanta, GA (2008), Charlotte, NC (2012) Greensboro, NC (2016) Atlanta, Ga (2021), and Greensboro, NC (2024). Has served on the Episcopal Committee in 2016, 2021 and 2024. He also served on the Board of Directors of The Dorothy Walls A.M.E. Zion Conference and Retreat Center.
Rev. Little is a graduate of Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC with a BA in Religious Studies, Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, NC with a Master of Divinity Degree and United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH with a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He attended ITC (Interdenominational Theological Center) in Atlanta GA., Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, DC and Erskine Theological Seminary, Due West, SC. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. Hobbies are spending time with family, cooking, and Graphic designing.
He has served as Housing Director, Campus Minister and Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies at Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC. He also served as the Secretary of the Rutherford County NAACP and served on the Board of Chaplaincy at the Rutherford Regional Hospital. He is the founder of a Non-Profit mentoring and Professional Development program called V.I.C.E. (Vision, Integrity, Character, and Encouragement). His Pastorates includes the following A.M.E. Zion Churches: Thomas Chapel and Bessie Chapel, Lilesville, NC, Mt. Olive, Monroe, NC, St. Stephen, Hamlet, NC, St. John, Rutherfordton, NC, Spottswood, Denver, CO and Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Norfolk, VA. He also served as the Presiding Elder of the Bristol District (East-Tennessee and Virginia Conference) and he also served as Chaplin with the Norfolk Sheriff Department.
Rev. Little’s favorite Bible verse is Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”.
